League of Legends: Best Female Players & Teams

Posted: 06 May 2025

While it is true that historically, Esports has been dominated by male players, women's gaming has consistently been growing.

Several major organizations have already invested in all-female rosters and no one can predict how far they will go.

There are already well-known LoL female players from past and ongoing projects, as well as teams that dominated their side of the industry.

Riot Games has been trying to influence inclusivity and diversity in the competitive landscape and we can expect to see more women achieving success and recognition in the coming years.

Best Female League of Legends Teams

The sad reality for most teams is that they are often short-lived. There have been numerous cases of all-female rosters that performed well in a tournament or a series of events and were disbanded almost immediately after.

The other negative part is the online harassment and toxicity that most female players have to endure.

One accurate example is Team Siren, which existed for a short period over a decade ago.

As soon as their first promotional video came out, they were overwhelmed with negativity. And it never worked out.

However, several other LoL female teams succeeded in leaving a mark throughout the years and quite a few contemporary ones are already ready to make history.

Teams from the past

GRE existed for about a year and a half but in that short period, they won more than most, if not all female teams in history.

With a star roster that included five of the best LoL female players ever to compete, they took part in a total of ten international tournaments, winning nine.

Besiktas Esports Female

This is one of the longest-standing all-female teams in the world. For years, they had one of the best LoL female players in the world - TIFA.

The organization is currently inactive but they won several major women's tournaments like the French La Ligue Feminine and DreamHack Winter 2018 Female.

Grow uP Girls EU

Grow uP Girls were active for short periods between 2017 and 2022, only forming rosters for tournaments.

They won La Coupe Feminine in 2021 and finished second in different editions of the Girlgamer competition.

Vaevictis eSports

While Vaevictis will never be remembered for their performance, the organization made history in contracting the first all-female team while competing in a pro league.

Vaevictis were part of the now-disbanded LCL, which once featured legendary teams like Moscow Five, Virtus.pro, and Gambit.

The team went on to finish the whole season without a win and was removed from the league.

Resolve Blue

Resolve Female, as they were called before the name change, were another team that was active for less than two years.

While they never made it to the top, the team was consistent in finishing in the Top 3 of all local and international competitions.

Players like Sha and CrowMac have been recognized as some of the best LoL female players and are currently part of bigger projects.

Last but not least, we have another French organization that invested in an all-female roster and achieved considerable success.

Out of the Blue won the first edition of the Women's Esports League in 2019, the La Ligue Feminine 2019 Playoffs, and several editions of the Girlgamer festival.
